Collins & Hoy will again be participating in The London Legal Walk 2023

The London Legal Walk 2023 returns on the 13th June.  Collins & Hoy will be participating as usual but with a larger team than ever!

The London Legal Walk is organised by London Legal Support Trust (LLST), a charity that fundraises to support free legal advice agencies in London and the South East.

For the last 19 years the London Legal Walk has brought the legal community together for a 10km sponsored walk through central London.  There are two routes on offer (with two further shorter routes available for those who want to join but over a shorter distance) both of which take in some of the Capital’s most beautiful landmarks.  One of these – the ever popular ‘Parks Route’ – is the perfect choice for those wanting to take in some of London’s world famous green spaces.

Last year more than 12,000 walkers participated, raising over £720,000 which helped 187,101 people via the LLST’s 40 Centres.  These figures perfectly showcase both the incredible results the London Legal Walk achieves and the level of support the legal community has for the lifechanging work free legal advice agencies do.

This year we have all been hit by the rising cost of living and many affected by the cuts to legal funding.  This means everything we can raise via the London Legal Walk will be even more vital.  It could make the difference between our hardest hit communities being able to secure the future of free legal advice they need on many issues, including homelessness, debt, domestic abuse and unemployment.

During the preparation for this year’s walk Lord Burnett, Lord Chief Justice and the President of LLST, said:

“The Walk has always provided essential funds for legal advice agencies to help the most vulnerable people in London and the South East. This year, the number of people needing that help is increasing rapidly. I hope we can respond to that need by increasing our fundraising once again and I look forward to seeing a huge turn-out on June 13th.”

As we’ve said, more people than ever from Collins & Hoy will be among the expected record numbers of advice agency staff, lawyers, law students and high-ranking judiciary registered to take part in The London Legal Walk 2023.

We wish Bernadette Hoy, Aisling Collins, Kate Moran, Rina Patel, Jeremy Tulloch, Sally Fidel, Marie Mazzocchi, Joelle Mak, Jasmine McLean, Dionne McLean and Daniel Haygarth a lovely evening and if you’d like to show your support, you can sponsor our team at https://londonlegalsupporttrust.enthuse.com/pf/collins-hoy-solicitors-2023.
