Collins & Hoy are proud to support Family Mediation Week 2024

Family Mediation Week 2024 will run from the 22nd to the 26th of January 2024 and, as always, Collins & Hoy will be supporting this essential family law initiative.

What is Family Mediation Week?

Originally launched by the Family Mediation Association, and now orchestrated by the Family Mediation Council, Family Mediation Week provides a much needed opportunity to raise both public and legal industry awareness of family mediation.

It also offers a platform from which to promote the reasons mediation can be a better option for some separating families. These include offering greater control, an opportunity to make decisions regarding their family’s future together and the fact it tends to be less confrontational and less expensive.

Family Mediation Week now reaches an even bigger audience than ever.  This is thanks in particular to the quality and quantity of additional training delivered during the week and the fact the timetable of events now offers something for the other professional advisers involved in divorce and separation, not just family lawyers and mediators.

What will be happening during Family Mediation Week 2024?

Over the course of the week, the Family Mediation Council will publish a series of resources, information, blogs covering key mediation topics.  They will also issue press releases and other news to all areas of the UK media to amplify the benefits of mediation.

There will also  be an extensive programme of events that includes events for legal professionals, for family mediators, for other professionals working with families, and for the public.

We look forward to participating in the events scheduled for mediators and family law professionals and to doing what we can to help promote mediation across not only these events but also within our local area as well as online and via social media.

If you would like to find out more about family mediation, there is much more information on our website.   If you would like to speak to one of our trained and accredited mediators, please email Bernadette Hoy or Aisling Collins who will be happy to explain the benefits of mediation and help you decide if it’s the right option for you.
