Welcome to Elizabeth Sulkin who joins the Family Team at Collins & Hoy

We are pleased to introduce the newest member of our team – Elizabeth Sulkin – who joins us as a Family Consultant following many years at LMK Law in Stanmore as Head of the Family Department.

Elizabeth has worked exclusively in the field of family law since she qualified as a solicitor in the mid 1980s.

For Elizabeth it is vitally important to establish a relationship of trust with her clients and to understand what is important to them.

When a client puts their trust in me at such a challenging time in their lives, I feel I owe it to them to really understand what it is they need from me. It’s down to me to find the tools and routes that will help them achieve what they need to move forward.

She has worked with clients from all backgrounds, married and unmarried, including same sex couples. She strives with her clients to find solutions that work for them.

One of the pleasures of working in the family law field is that no two clients are ever the same. Everyone is an individual. And that in itself keeps me on my toes.

Elizabeth’s practice covers all areas of family law from divorce and financial issues, pre-nuptial agreements and cohabitation disputes, to domestic violence and children disputes. Elizabeth is committed to finding ways to resolve disputes constructively and thoroughly endorses the approach of Non Court Dispute Resolution, considering what route might best work for her clients wherever possible. After so many years working in this field she has seen the benefits to be gained through reaching an effective negotiated outcome which enables her clients to move forward into a new chapter in their lives.

Her passion is Mediation where she works with both clients directly, guiding them and helping them find an outcome they both find acceptable, and she is excited to be bringing her experience as an FMC Accredited Mediator to Collins & Hoy. She mediates in relation to both finance and children matters, and is able to work directly with children so that their voices can be heard.

Working with both parties as a Mediator is so rewarding. Helping them understand each other’s concerns and  agreeing a way forward that works for both of them, and any children, is such a positive and constructive approach at an otherwise difficult time. A relationship breakdown is hard enough in itself. But as a Mediator I can help support both parties through the transition.

Our Partner, Bernadette Hoy says “We are thrilled Elizabeth has joined us at Collins & Hoy. Elizabeth has developed a wealth of experience over the years and will be a great addition to the expertise of our specialist family law team.”
