Joelle joined Collins & Hoy in August 2021 as a Paralegal in the Family Department.
Joelle graduated from the University of Surrey, with an Upper Second Class Honours Degree in Law. During her undergraduate studies, Joelle completed various work experiences in Hong Kong and volunteered at the National Centre for Domestic Violence, these experiences gave her valuable experience in producing documents and compiling bundles for use in Court.
After graduating, Joelle went on to complete the LPC MSc programme at the University of Law, Guildford. During her postgraduate studies, she volunteered in the University of Law Clinic offering free legal advice to members of the local community.
Prior to joining Collins & Hoy, Joelle worked as a paralegal at regional and central London Legal 500 law firms where she assisted partners in the family department. She had worked on a variety of cases including both private and legal aid with matters involving divorce, prenuptial agreements, children in care, child abduction, forced marriage, and FGM. She also has experience working on Court of Protection matters.
Outside of work, Joelle is active in volunteering at church and various organisations helping new immigrants to settle and integrate. In her spare time, Joelle enjoys travelling and holidays with her family. She likes watching movies in different languages and is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.
She began her training contract with the firm in March 2022.

Joelle has a particular interest in complex family structures and the various issues that arise with them, both in children matters and relationship dissolution. Joelle enjoys involvement with clients and ways in which assistance can be provided, to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals. Joelle is motivated to improve the lives of children, young people, families, and communities. She has demonstrated in her work and with the voluntary positions she held.
